Securityimages 5.1.0 not installing with Joomla 1.5.8 Print E-mail

software.bug Many users have reported issues in my forums, it is currently not possible to install SecurityImages
5.1.0 in the latest version of Joomla! 1.5.8

I already test the following locally in my developer environment

    1. A previous version of SecurityImages 5.0.0RC1 is properly installing in Joomla! 1.5.8 but you need to install also the
      system plugin manually
    2. The latest version of SecurityImages 5.1.0 is properly installing in Joomla! 1.5.5, 1.5.6 and 1.5.7 but not in Joomla! 1.5.8
    3. If I remove in SecurityImages 5.1.0 the automatic install of the system plugin along with the component, the install succeed
but you need to install also the  system plugin manually

So it seems that installing the component through the Joomla! installer framework, together with a system plugin
(using install.securityimages.php) in one shot is no more possible due to...???

I am still investigating, but that will take a bit of time as there is no error in logs files of apache, php and Joomla!

Hi, thanx for the information on how to proceed in order to manage Security
    Images with J! 1.5.8
However just the login screen received the captch. Contact and Registration are
    still without.
    - All system check in the component is OK.
    - Plugin removed and reinstalled OK.
    - Global Parameters to use captcha resaved OK.
    - Browser needed to clear all cache, cookies as well as J!

Hope that this will resolve soon. I'm too investigating further and is actualy a
bit amazed that J! 1.5.8 has caused this. 1.5.8 also effected a module from
Shape 5 to loose its background image. (fixed).

    Regards

Regarding the images in the Shape 5 module I mentioned:

"They patched it so that the images are not relative but rather dynamically
    point to their directories."

Maybe in your neighbourhood since I couldn't find any errors in PHP or any
scripts with Firebug or Development Tools for FF, in regards to the module
    images either...

    Just a thought

I found the "error", was my error...

Twice securityimages.xml installer in 2 different directories in zip. Joomla
take the first in list and that seems to be the plugins securityimages.xml

seems that Joomla 1.5.5 reorder zip entries files differently than hence the
    problem in 1.5.8...

Solution: I ve done a prototype, will provide a patch tonight but cant before
